Pista Burfi

Ingredients

  • 400 gms Pistachios (kernels removed)
  • 250 gms Sugar
  • Water (for sugar syrup) as required
  • 7-8 Leaves edible silver foil (varakh)

    Method

    Step 1: Blanch the pistachios in boiling water.
    Step 2: Drain the water & remove peels.
    Step 3: Make a dry paste of the blanched and peeled Pistachios without using water.
    Step 4: Prepare sugar syrup.
    Step 5: Mix the pistachio paste with the syrup and keep on stirring until it becomes solid.
    Step 6: Now spread out the silver foil (varakh), and cut it into square pieces.
    Step 7: Pista Barfi is ready.
