Sweet Corn Soup


Soups are the best starters to be served before a meal. In India, soups have gained a broad list of admirers. From amongst the wide variety spectrum of different types of soups, Sweet Corn soup is amongst the best of best. Explore an easy recipe to prepare Sweet Corn soup.

Ingredients Sweet Corn Soup
  • 1 cup tender Corn kernels
  • 1 cup Sweet Corn
  • 2 Vegetable cubes
  • 3 tbsp. Corn flour
  • 1/2 tsp. Soya sauce
  • 2 tbsp. Vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp. Ajinomoto
  • 1/2 tsp. Sugar
  • 4 cups Water
  • Salt to Taste

Method
  1. Remove corn kernels from fresh corn by using a sharp knife.
  2. Boil the corn kernels and keep tthem aside.
  3. Take ½ cup water, mix the corn flour to it and keep aside.
  4. Take a pan and add water, vegetable cubes, salt, sugar and corn kernels. Add creamed corn to it.
  5. Boil it on medium heat. Add the corn four paste to it and stir continuously.
  6. Add Vinegar and Soya sauce.
  7. Keep stirring till the soup is thick and clear.
  8. Serve hot Sweet Corn Soup

Chicken Shorba (soup)

Ingredients (Serves: 4) Chicken Shorba (soup)

  • 500 gm: Chicken bones
  • 100 gm: Boneless chicken
  • 1 ½ tsp: Refined flour (maida)
  • ½ tsp: Cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp: Chopped garlic
  • White pepper powder
  • 1 tsp: Butter
  • 1 tsp: Oil
  • 1 lt: Water
  • Salt to taste
Method
  1. Clean and wash chicken bones.
  2. Clean, wash and cut chicken into very small pieces (1/2 cm cubes).
  3. Put chicken bones in a pot with one litre of water, chopped garlic and cook till water is reduced to 600 ml. Strain and keep aside.
  4. Stir fry chicken pieces in butter till tender and keep the stock aside.
  5. Heat oil, add cumin seeds and refined flour, cook for a minute, stirring continuously. Then add the reduced chicken stock, chicken pieces, white pepper powder and salt.
  6. Cook for some time and serve hot.
  7. You may add half a cup of fresh cream just before serving to make it a little rich.
